Our Chiropractic Techniques
We use a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on our clinical judgment and years of experience.
The primary adjusting techniques we use include:
Diversified
After identifying which vertebrae have lost their normal motion or position, a specific manual thrust is applied to free up “stuck” spinal joints. read more»
Gonstead
This full spine approach relies on X-rays and a heat-sensing instrument for a thorough evaluation and documented results. read more»
Ultrasound
This high-tech deep tissue “micro-massage” helps reduce swelling, increase blood flow, decrease pain, reduce joint stiffness and stimulate cell-repair. read more»
Muscle Stem – TENS Units
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation Primarily used for managing chronic pain. Works by blocking the pain signal, and by increasing endorphins in the body. Device features include adjustable pulse rate, pulse width, and amplitude (intensity). Placements of electrodes are usually at pain site or along the nerve channels, called dermatomes.
Muscle Stimulator
Neuromuscular Electrical Nerve Stimulation Primarily used for preventing muscle wasting. More than just nerve stimulation, muscles are contracted and relaxed on and off to strengthen muscles, increase blood circulation to the area, and/or to reduce edema.
Heat Therapy
Heat Therapy Also known as moist heat- Heat is used for chronic conditions such as muscle discomfort, stiffness. Applying heat to an area effectively opens up the blood vessels allowing blood to flow freely to the affected area. This increases circulation, delivering an increased supply of oxygen and nutrients and removing waste from sore, fatigued and injured muscles. Using a Hot Pack can be especially useful on a muscle spasm.
Massage
Massage Therapy is a hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. It is also an alternative health option to help alleviate the soft tissue discomfort associated with every day and occupational stresses, muscular overuse and many chronic pain syndromes. It also works to improve the circulation of blood through the body and to speed the removal of metabolic waste products from muscles.
